For Students and Parents

MyPeerPrep is a peer-to-peer tutoring platform that connects students with qualified high school tutors for affordable academic support. Tutors can offer free sessions for community service credit or charge a fee for their time.

All tutors are high school students who meet strict academic criteria, including a minimum GPA of 3.7 and demonstrated expertise in their tutoring subjects. Every profile is reviewed and approved by the MyPeerPrep team before being listed on the site.

Our tutors cover a wide range of subjects, including Math, Science, English, History, Foreign Languages, and test preparation.

Many tutors offer free sessions to earn community service credit. For paid tutoring, fees are negotiated directly with the tutor. Typical rates range from $40–100 per hour, depending on the tutor’s expertise and the subject. MyPeerPrep itself does not process payments as the platform’s primary goal is to connect students with reliable academic support, whether they prefer free or paid options. This keeps MyPeerPrep focused on its mission of accessibility while giving tutors and families flexibility in their arrangements.

Visit the Find a Tutor page, choose a tutor, and contact them directly through their profile. They will work with you to arrange the session time and details.

This depends on the tutor’s and student’s preferences. Many tutors offer virtual options, while others may be available for in-person sessions within your local area.

If you’re having trouble finding a tutor, contact us through the Contact page. We’ll help guide you to someone who meets your needs.
